Favorite Pets in Bellingham: A Few of Ours

You’re probably here because, like us, you adore at least one special dog, cat or other pet. As professional pet sitters, we adore many–all the pets we care for, in fact. If you follow our Facebook page, then you know that almost every month, Boulevard Bark honors one of the pets in Bellingham as our Pet of the Month. We get to take care of so many special animals, and we’d love to honor them all. (Maybe next year, we’ll get more of our clients’ pets up on Facebook!) We know it makes a pet owner proud to see him/her featured and know how unique and special he/she is in our eyes. So with no further ado, these are the very special animals who were named Pet of the Month in 2019.

March, 2019 Pet of the Month: Jasper

Jasper was just a puppy (we could scoop him up in one arm) when we began caring for him in 2018, and he’s now a tall, strong boy who’s well over a year old. But we still see that adorable little puppy in him.

Thank you, Jasper, for having a bright and spunky personality, and a playful demeanor that keeps us on our toes. In his free time, Jasper enjoys chasing everything that moves, wrestling with his sister Elia (also a canine), and making good-natured mischief. It’s been an honor knowing you throughout your puppy-hood.

April, 2019 Pet of the Month: Leo

Of all the pets in Bellingham, Leo is one of the most memorable.

Leo is a 5-year-old Puggle who loves his family, and everyone he meets. In his free time, Leo enjoys mountain biking with his dad and brother at Galbraith Mountain. He can run for hours! He also loves his regular walks with his pet sitter, Rose, at Whatcom Falls–rain or shine. Leo is sweet, curious, and well-behaved. He has a mind of his own when choosing trails!

He is a little dog with the heart of a lion. Thank you, Leo, for being an awesome dog and a great client.

May, 2019 Pet of the Month: Peri

Peri is a sweet, easy-going cat with the face of an angel! In his free time, he enjoys eating, partaking in catnip, and chasing feather toys. He also loves to rub against corners, chill out in the sun, and indulge in lots of pets and cuddles with his humans (and his pet sitter)! His greatest talent is (without a doubt) purring. Thank you, Peri, for being a great client & a fantastic feline friend.

June, 2019 Pet of the Month: Bailey

We are so sad to say that our June pet of the month, sweet beautiful Bailey, is no longer with us. She was loved fiercely and is missed deeply by her family (as well as her pet sitters).

When we met Bailey, she was already a beautiful old girl, and we’re so grateful we had a chance to care for her. She was a sweet, affectionate dog who enjoyed peanut butter and spending long hours in the yard with her brother, Leo. In her younger days, she was known far and wide for her ball-fetching talents. (She is still a legend). Bailey loved the sweet sound of a human voice talking to her, and was always delighted when her pet sitter walked in the door.

Thank you, Bailey, for being such a wonderful friend and companion to so very many people, for so long. We love and miss you. We know you’re off somewhere running and chasing a ball, finally feeling all better again.

August, 2019 Pet of the Month: A Different Jasper!

Jasper is a warm little ray of sunshine, who brightens the day of his pet sitter(s), and everyone else he meets. He’s always so darn happy! He loves hugs and kisses. On his walks, he prances along proudly, and all the neighbors know him by name. He loves to show off his tricks (so that we’ll know how smart he is … but mostly, to earn treats!). We love you, Jasper! Thanks for being awesome.

September, 2019 Pets of the Month: Narnia and Iriscos

   

These two beautiful Chartreux cats can really brighten up a pet sitter’s day. They’re both sweet, affectionate kitties who love to cuddle and play. Iriscos is the big boy, and he can seem a bit more serious than Narnia at times … but we know he is a big sweetheart inside. When they aren’t busy cat napping, Narnia and Iriscos love to lie in the sun, chase laser light pointers, and get treats and cuddles from humans. Thank you so much, Iriscos and Narnia, for being beautiful cats & fantastic feline clients!

October, 2019 Pet of the Month: Toboggan

Toboggan is a Malamute with a unique personality and a heart of gold. He’s the kind of dog who knows exactly what he wants, what he likes, and what he doesn’t like. Of course, he lets us know his preferences in only the sweetest of ways. In his free time, Toboggan enjoys running free in his vast fenced yard and gardens, burying bones to dig up later on, howling at the moon, and playing with his dog & cat brother and sisters. He’s a talker, too, and his vocalizations always make us smile. Thanks, Toboggan, for being such a cool & special dog.

December, 2019 Pet of the Month: Farkley

Meet Farkley, the wonder cat! Some pets win our hearts just by being themselves. Farkley is a pleasure to sit for, and never gives us any trouble. He is sweet and friendly, and loves to casually eat a leisurely meal while taking frequent breaks to sit on our laps. We’re pretty sure that he loves his pet sitters just as much as we love him. Thank you, Farkley, for being a cute/adorable, fun and easy cat to sit for. You rock!!
